STARSWIFT VISION OF HIS LEGACY
“IRIS”-OCTOBER 17 2017

Iris is our Borzoi that we got last Christmas, as a sport and show prospect. Unfortunately, early on she had some health issues (completely unrelated to her breeder). When she was just 4 months old, she got a Pyothorax and needed chest tubes placed for a week and stayed in my work’s hospital with round the clock care. Thankfully she pulled through and resumed a relatively normal puppyhood. This did not last, sadly. In November she had not been feeling well, and her labwork was severely abnormal. Another week hospitalized at MSU, and she pulled through. Follow up testing is pointing at Atypical Addisons as the cause. As a result, she has been scratched from a sport and show prospect to just a family pet. We will keep her as comfortable and happy as possible, and continue to work through her health problems.
